Teacher

Philosophy

Pauliina has been teaching kantele since she was 14 years old. Since then she has had a countless number of students - youngest of them 3- and eldest 85 years old! Pauliina has been teaching in different music schools, camps and universities.

As a teacher it's important for Pauliina that the student enjoys playing, no matter what the beginning level or goals are. It's never too late to start plucking and strumming a kantele! Pauliina has taught all the different playing styles from the 5-string to concert kantele. She has specialised on the match-plucking (Saarijärvi) style.                  pauliinasyrjl33.jpg
